50 Ways To Make Coffee
The opening scene is going to consist of as many different ways we can represent coffee as possible, starting with a member of staff at starbucks making a coffee, then placing it on a counter, the ways off coffee from there will get faster with faster and faster cuts until its a blur, the blur will continue for 3 seconds until it cuts to white, and the face of then main character sitting at his desk fades in (To be continued)

Origins of our idea
The idea is drawn from the main concept of fight club, insomnia, but is pulled off in a different manor with a completely different story line and direction, we decided on the psychological HORROR over Thriller (Fight club being psychological thriller) to make sure we weren't accused of copying fight club...
Cast
Cast will be made up of friends and Alex (me) and Luke, due to the fact that we want to give the idea of the person being alone in the world with no one to turn to there will be very limited roles needed, ones i can think of:
Main character
Main characters manager
Bus driver
General public (on bus)
Main character
Main characters manager
Bus driver
General public (on bus)
Overall Plot
The plot is a story of an everyday business man who keeps waking up in different places from where he feel asleep, in short, the guy falls asleep, kills someone, wakes up and doesn't remember a thing... He realizes this and tries to over come the problem by starving himself of sleep and drinking hell loads of coffee... the entire extract will be one of building tension to the viewer before the closing scene is one of the business man (unnamed as of yet) falls asleep on the bus home and wakes up in the middle of no where, cut, hurt and with ripped clothes, we will play on the idea that the viewer knows that the inevitable will happen...
Location
The location that we are going to be using are:
The center of Cambridge
Alex's work place
Bus journey
Woods
We picked these locations in order to get the best shots for our project and they would be easy to obtain giving us more time to think about the cinematography and the editing.

Genre
Our idea's:
Horror
Romance
Sci-fi
Action/Adventure
We set out when planning our film extract to create/use a genre that isn't typical of Media/Film Students, originally we wanted to avoid Horror, Thriller and Horrible cheesy mockumantaries. We decided that if we were careful we could avoid the typical horror by creating a psychological horror. We went from there...
We decided against Romance because to be honest neither of us really would enjoy the project or have a really original idea if we used the romantic genre, we also felt the same for action/adventure
For Sci-fi we felt there was too much room for error, the special effects that would have to be involved would be to complex for a short Film Student project, plus it would be bashed for realism of story etc etc etc
